  Club Asiatique carries the look-and-feel of the American GI R & R  
pleasure palaces of the era, within easy reach (day-trip or easy  
flight connection) of combat troops in Vietnam.  Bringing the War back  
home, you might say. Upscale counterpart, without the illegal drugs --  
something like Trader Vic's, the classic "Polynesian" bar & restaurant  
that I knew here in the SF Bay Area.

A good book that details an important entertainment service associated  
with such places serving US soldiers overseas:
