Don't mind malign, Tara, he's so hopelessly humourless and literal. And,
as he says, a bit of a 'behind'.

I guess what they were trying to say was that he 'invented' the modern
'sport' of surfing, based on the ancient 'art'. If we followed malign's
'logic', nobody would ever be able to take credit for 'inventing'
anything, since God - or the Big Bang - could claim credit.

A-and, the only reason I posted that, aside from the IV/surfing
relevance - was, as an Irishman, I relished the very absurdity of the
idea that all that 'Surfin USA' stuff actually owed it all to someone
from Northern Ireland, a decidedly un-Californian, not too sunny place.
Geddit?
