"Swann's Way?" Time to toss you under the wagon. "Catch 22"?  
Fugittaboutit! How could I be such a fool as to actually enjoy  
"Goldbug Variations" & "Farewell My Lovely?" How could I possibly see  
the characters in Gravity's Rainbow as 1970's L.A. folk transplanted  
to the end of World War Two? How could I possibly be so inane as to  
actually take this author at his word?

Seriously—You should have seen my dad's liver, you should have seen my  
step-mom's [an RN] medicine cabinet. In 1970 drugs were EVERYWHERE.  
Got that? Not just in the stashes of the kids but EVERYWHERE.
