Ojai

But does Camarillo have anything specific to do with the book? Is
Camarillo mentioned? (serious question). I see mention of Ojai, but
Ojai is significantly different from Camarillo. They're about 30
miles apart - (a bit north of the greater LA area). Ojai is much
smaller, more on the desert, artsy, up-scale. Camarillo is much
larger, distinctly middle class, commercial, used to have a large
mental hospital. In the late '60s - early '70s, I don't think Ojai
was much of anything but Camarillo was booming. Later Ojai got more
famous for the film festival and the spa there.

When I came across the reference to Ojai it seemed to me that P was
directing our attention to the fact that the savings and loan was not
in the immediate area; it was more outside the immediate area.
