I still think it's a pretty good reading, despite the chili dogs (I mean: 
who can resist a chili dog). AtD certainly had its fair share of pro-veg
comments, from those fantastic scenes in Chicago slaughterhouses to that
melancholy yet catchy tango "Vegetariano" - strategically placed only a 
couple-three pages before the end of those 1100 pages.
 
As for those chili dogs: Hey, even vegetarians get the munchies.
