 From whom did you hear no Roth, Below, Updike?  The Bellow entries are 
very strong, although I suppose they could cancel each other out.

Your guesses are as good as any, I think.  GR and Invisible Man seem 
certain, but there are other strong candidiates:  Flannery O'Connor's 
stories, Faulkner's stories, The Movie Goer, JR ...
