It is not that common, being able to unequivocally recommend
a Finnish novel translated into English (and German etc etc).

_Purge_ (_Puhdistus_, also "purification", "catharsis") by
Sofi Oksanen - whose mother is Estonian, father Finnish - is
such a novel. It is at once quotidian and extraordinary, bold
and subtle, depicting three generations of Estonian women from
the era of Stalinist purges through present-day trafficking.
The novel just won the Nordic Council Literature Prize 2010.
