Welcome to Old Spaceways. This site is about retro sci-fi gaming, and
by extension, retro sci-fi itself. On this site retro sci-fi is
planetary romance to Hugo Gernsback to '50s juveniles. It is bordered
by Victorian Science Fiction and sputnik.Problems in retro sci-fi are
still human scale. Astronomical distances aren't so astronomical and
nobody ever heard of nanotech. Sources are books and pulp magazines
from the dawn of flight to sputnik, with some special attention to the
juvenile stories of the 50's. Comic strips from post WW1 to sputnik
again. Movies from Aelita to Forbidden planet and thereabouts. Any and
all sf derived serials are included.It also includes TV shows from
Captain Video to Rocky Jones. It is quite an area, but it's real
definition lies in feel. When Star Trek's Voyager becomes Captain
Proton we retro scifi fans have reached the home planet.
