To make myself clear, I do not disagree with the idea of Evolution, for each
species is individual in it's Imagination. And it is this Imaginative Spirit
which propels us onwards and outwards, this it is that allows life on this
planet to adapt and 'evolve'. It does not disprove God nor require loosing
one's faith in Creation Song, if anything the Origin of Species *is *a
subtler kind of Poetry, and, I cannot shake this sense, bad poetry when
comparison to the Genesis.
As William Blake said "I question not my Corporeal or Vegetative Eye any
more tan I would Question a Window concerning a Sight I look thro it & not
with it." For Newton the sight beyond the window was never enough, the wood
of the frame and sill indeterminate. For Darwin the Question remained
hovering around the Sill, and perhaps he verified that the wood was indeed
Oak and not Pine as once was thought, but this little concerns me. "Error is
Created, Truth is Eternal."
