Watched Brenda Wineapple, who wrote a Hawthorne bio, on Book TV. [Repeat from 03]. Hawthorne was the historical equiv of a Young Republican, so to speak and in his campaign bio of schoolmate-buddy President Franklin Pierce--as in Inverarity--he argues for strict constructionalism re the Constitution, a VERY important document for him...BIG rule of law, Tea Party-like guy--I say, surfing my analogies.
