grace I thought is a spiritual invention created for humans,
supposedly out of God's generosity?  Aldous Huxley spoke of LSD as "a
gratuitous grace" (or maybe Alan Watts?)
to partake of the happiness of the angels despite one's sin and guilt;
a loss-leader in the department store of salvation?
