on the specific example........................
i did not want to have to read the rest of Adams, but you've made me do it.

Graves? Sure, it is in Graves, but that Ivory Cross is the most
inportant symbol in Adams's novel, _Esther_.
It is odd that the critics continue to ignore the most obvious texts
here, digging into texts in langauges young P did not read to find
sources, when the source he explicitly names, Adams, is so obvious.
