speaking as a supporter, and even a fan, of Obama, still, if I were he...

1) come out for legal pot - end this prohibition.  Obama appointed a
Bush legacy as drug czar, somebody who has chosen to raid clinics in
states where medical marijuana is legal - 2 thumbs down.  I would have
him appoint a NORML officer as drug czar and revive the Nixon
Commission report recommending legalization, throw the whole weight of
prestige behind it.

2) end Gitmo - publicly and resolutely and speedily deal with each
case, not even stopping short of press conferences in situ devoted to
each case

3) DADT - shoulder to the wheel dude!

4) veto health reform that lacked the public option.  I'd estimate
that he threw away 30 or 40 representative by wussing out on the
public option.  Sorry dude your performance was sadly lacking, if your
friends won't tell you, who will?

5) too late now, but...keeping ANY Bush appointees for any appointive
office, even dogcatcher, is like, well, it's the kind of boneheaded
move that you compare boneheaded moves to

6) Invite Pynchon to the White House for dinner
