In a chapter which is a lot about sex which includes an attempted
rape---"I just want to get laid"--Pig, desire as selfish rendering
of the other, the woman, as no one and involving Benny and Rachel
when she gives herself to him--and he takes it (although it reminds
him of a mnemonic guide for resistor color-coding (!?))..........

There are two stewardii not to be seen again in P's work until
Inherent Vice....They, like Violet, give willingly but they and their
lovers are interchangeable.................................
