V--2nd Chap 13

Here is one key theme, maybe, that this minor chapter holds
in V......

Lotsa Benny, lots and lots of the whole sick crew and sex and
(lack of) relationships.....some stuff about Benny's 'caringness' but
a tough verbal attack from Rachel about his inability to get it, accept
responsibility re women......(and, I have not known how to take all this
mishmash re Benny in this chpater--is TRP simply confused about his
character here and all he [TRP] wants to get down or is his confusion
intentional since Benny IS that, at least...........

And however we judge/read it, the narrator even tells Benny harshly to
listen up and, soon enough, we will have Benny say he didn't learn a goddamn
thing...............................................

Is that the major thematic point here in unlucky 13?

Is this another way TRP subverts some usual ways of the novel, even the
romance? by showing his protagonist as unable to 'grow', change as is
supposed to be an almost defining characteristic of a good novel?
