by Clint Eastwood, who, an anthology essay remarked, shaped this movie against
studio wishes
because he sensed that America would now respond to such a
..........cop/detective?...........
impatient with Miranda rights--as many Americans were--- and impatient with the
protocols of the system---
as Eastwood was with the Hollywood system.........
More of what we might call that semi-fascist turn in America........or The
Bigfoot turn....................
