thanks.  i don't want to leave, esp. not now, but i've been overtaken

i was hoping a quicker pace'd do would be to leave us  a bit fresher
than we usually are after a year or more long campaign, so as to allow
for rereading, reconsideration, reappraisal, whatever ...

one question i've been wondering about is, why a (relatively,) young
stoner protagonist, who just happens to be a detective, albeit prone
to, i don't know, reality lapses?  cf., e.g., why an ex-young
republican housewife, or ....

what is he, what are we not quite seeing (
as a result?) that may well be of utmost importance nonetheless?
