Damn hotmail autosave!
ANyway, that Mailer interview my friend recommended is (of course) an older one. The actual Mark Lawson stuff is here:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00qj2pf
"Mark Lawson tells the story of how American writing became the literary superpower of the 20th century, telling the nation's stories of money, power, sex, religion and war"
Ok, but this?:
"How a group of young writers returning from WWII turned the US into a literary superpower."
I'm just not sure about that.
And where is Nabokov? Not considered an 'American writer'? Or just too ill-suited to this whole 'formed by WWII' theory?
