Reading Perlstein's NIxonland. The writing is good , and perhaps a
little too successful at recreating the time and political/social
atmosphere. So easy to forget how much Martin King was hated, or the
violence against anti-war and civil rights protesters. I don't know
if I can read it all. The truth it recounts is too much like probing
an old wound.
