Thomas Pynchon Beers

Judging from the photo, it does look "chewy." A local brewery (New Albanian 
in southern Indiana) makes an ale called Hoptimus, with 10.5 percent alcohol 
and 100 IBU. It's surprisingly drinkable, and I don't consider myself much 
of a hophead.
