Good question!

My first iPod was a gift, and I must admit I fully felt the wow factor when taking it out of the box, etc. 

But I have since really soured on Apple.

A friend of mine has a Zune, which he likes. He bought an ipod, hated it, and returned it. I might try one of the Walkman MP3 players next time.

Although I really hate to give up that all important pose factor,  
which generic MP3 do you recommend for a better listening experience?  
Which one has the largest storage capacity coupled with best sound?
