RIP Harvey Pekar

I'm sorry if I misled you. I had lapsed into fantasy before making that statement. I have never heard any Pynchon comment about Harvey.

It's my opinion that Harvey would revisit his consideration of Pynchon's work, if he thought that Pynchon admired him. And I chuckle imagining the transition.

Part of my opinion is based on the general principle that people tend to like people who like them, all other things being equal. And part is based on my personal contact with Harvey. For a number of years we crossed paths when I was doing radio shows at the Case radio station. He hung out in our record library listening to sides.
