Very nice on M & D....

M&D is how I found Pynchon. I was in a foreign language bookshop in
Moscow and desperate for something to read, grabbed it because of its
size (desperate times, desperate measures) thinking it would last me
more than a day or two. I fell in love at the first sentence. Still my
favourite opening and possibly always will be. Just jaw-droppingly
beautiful prose throughout. I couldn't put it down.
My favourite novel.
