more prolegomena: early 1963

WorldCat shows a 1961 edition of V., published by Lippincott prior to the Lippincott 1963 edition which is listed as "1963 4. impr" -- whatever that means. 
 
According to WorldCat, the closest library to me housing the 1961 edition is in the Univerisity of Auckland in New Zealand (I'm in Minneapolis):
