Galileo gives the world the finger

Just read in the Independent that Galileo's thumb and finger are  
going on display in a Galileo Museum in Florence, along with some  
teeth and a vertebra. I'm not making this shit up. I found a photo of  
the finger (http://scribalterror.blogs.com/scribal_terror/images/ 
2007/07/30/galileo1_1.jpg) which is displayed in what looks like a  
votive candle. Perhaps Galileo's ghost came up with this idea and  
pulled some invisible strings, the eternal flame of his final fuck  
you to all those cardinals  trying to live on a flat earth with the  
planets  circling the birthplace of so much celestial glory. The skin  
looks a bit dessicated but the message still comes through.

Perhaps it is time for a sacred pilgrimage. One can imagine thousands  
of acolytes of the new order, telescopes in one hand , and in the  
other, index fingers raised in holy oblation.
