V-2nd, Benny begins......belated post, held 'cause too many..............

There have been some fine extended posts 'analysing', defining, riffing on psychological/
interpersonal aspects of Benny and all from the brushstrokes and interaction scenes and 
the poetic, almost metaphysical tidbits TRP gives us.....................

I put it this way as a lead-in to one of my posts like those, from a thematic book published
even before TRP's coming of age time................

I have no evidence TRP read it-- it is not original nor deep enough to last (unlike TRP) and it doesn't really matter---
but asking some questions that are like TRPs concerns, it pedestrianly fills in words about some obs we've made.
He asks why did fascism happen. He gives insights into other cultures and historic times. 
TRP, poet, did not need the boring words---but he implies some of them, maybe?

The book is ESCAPE FROM FREEDOM by Erich Fromm.
Take Aloneness (and what Emma & Ian and others  wrote about adolescence, immaturity, say) :
p.29. "The other aspect of the process of individuation is growing aloneness." ...submission is not
the only way of avoiding aloneness and anxiety..the other way, the only one which is productive and 
does not end in an insoluble conflict, is that of spontaneous relationship to man and nature...." 

 "Human existence and freedom are from the beginning inseparable."
