We all remember TRP 's riffs about fathers killing their sons instead in GR. 

Gould goes on to suggest that these theories of Weber and Freud provide [the best] background for understanding  how and why the Beatles phenomenon happened and then went on to serve as the personification of the social and cultural upheaval that reached throughout the industrialized world during the second half of the 60s...
