interesting page.  there's a diatribe against private databases that I don't
totally agree with - but I suppose you have to expect that from partisans
of free ones, just as the CEO of Lexis/Nexis probably isn't that thrilled
with the free contingent -

but a lot of links I never heard of further down the page
such as Directory of Open Access Journals

pointers like going thru your local library to get Jstor etc...

(and some methods of very dubious morality which I urge people to ignore)
