TRP: "small Latin and less Greek"

Michael Bailey writes:
 My
shred of evidence is in the letter to The Dude where he denigrates his
own research, and also in the preface to "Slow Learner" where he
attempts to disparage his own understanding of the concept of entropy.
He cites Asimov, a great popularizer, as the source of his knowledge.
This is tantamount to "small Latin and less Greek"... Hard as it is
to fathom, I think he was being fairly serious in the Dude
communications!

I too have let TRPs communications with the Dude grow in my mind but
they have grown slightly differently than they have in Michael's:

I think TRP was seriously telling the Dude and all of us that he was not packing
all the baggage (or HIDDEN allegories) of many of his allusive concepts---such as entropy most famously---
but there are so many others---but just sayin' I use them my way....for metaphors and meaning within
my fictions.....
