Cloud Atlas

I think this is a perfect description of Cloud Atlas (but I don't see
the Murakami thing at all). The plots of the Cloud Atlas stories are
cohesive singularly and together, and a bit too morality-tale-ish (in
a Twilight-Zone way). Mrakami is almost anti-cohesive. His books
annoy me as being cloyingly mystical w/o real depth.
