Profils américains is a French collection published by the Presses
Universitaires de la Méditerranée at the University of Montpellier
(http://www.pulm.fr/+-Profils-americains-+). Each of its twenty titles
is a monograph on an American author, by French and international
scholars. An upcoming issue will be devoted to Thomas Pynchon: it will
feature essays focusing on particular works (from his earliest short
fiction to Inherent Vice) as well as broader examinations of specific
aspects of his writing.

Proposals (approximately 700 words) and short bios should be sent by
June 15; approval by July 1; final papers by October 31, 2010.
