I was going to suggest West as well, Lonelyhearts or A Cool Million.
Flash & Filigree would also be fun.
Harry Mathews has written a number of short novels that would, I think,
appeal to Pynchonites. Also W.M. Spackman, who is nothing like Pynchon
but, in my opinion, a very interesting writer. Wrote short novels,
mostly about adultery (of which he approves).
