Now, if the guy doesn't want to learn "fucking German", then indeed he'll
never be able to understand thinkers like Heidegger or Hegel.

As first introduction a translation is OK, but in general it's true
what Hubert Fichte once said:

"All translations are bullshit!"

Btw, would you give much for anybody's opinion on Pynchon when that
opinion is exclusively based on translations?! You see ...
