This man, a cultural/political commentator, was born in 1963. He calls himself a conservative, but
he has voted for and mostly liked the Obama admin's action's and decisions. (he has studied
politicial theory thru a PHD, I believe.)
Less than halfway down this long day's posting, he has a short doc from 1967 on "the hippies".
Harry Reasoner mostly takes them down verbally but notice how Andrew's introducing blog words
see another possibility.

For those with no time nor inclination to check this ole doc out, here are Sullivan's intro words:
"An extract from a 1967 documentary about hippies. What's interesting to me is the anti-political nature of this "cultural revolution". This was about shifting personal human values as a way to change society: change without power:"
I might suggest that one perspective on Pynchon's politics is to see them as "anti-political in nature"...his later
works especially full of 'personal human values' .....change w/out power. Cyprian's change in AtD, as one example.
All rooted in this ethos from this time.
