A famous social critic, one David Harvey, in his book
The Condition of Postmodernity calls the period 1910*
to 1972 "'the era of high modernism"....

And in 1975, TRP's ole buddy Kirkpatrick Sale published
"Power Shift".......the change in America in recent years re power. 

Is this the slight "prophecy" within Inherent Vice? [Remember Tore, I believe, 
made the point
IV was NOT a prophetic fiction like some others of his]...

TRP frames this power shift in California around 69-70?
