Like the Maxwell's Demon, Mondaugen's antennae functions as a  
transformer of sorts, shifting thought energy or spirit energy into  
measurable work energy.

The E-Meter -- Scientology's psychological aide is basically an ohm  
meter -- measures electrical resistance, like the psychic resistance  
Oedipa puts up at John Nefastis place on Telegraph.
