Thomas Pynchon. Vice caché. Transl. Nicolas Richard. Paris: Le Seuil,
2010.

The reviews of the French translation of Inherent Vice weren't many!
I didn't find them on national newspapers as Liberation or Le Monde,
but the novel was nominated for a literary prize called le prix Médicis:

derniere-selection

The result of this contest will be announced on November 3rd.

Some journalists only quote the first pages of the novel. The deepest
review might be by Patrick Kéchichian, in La Croix, a catholic
newspaper.

Many reviewers insist on a vice called drugs. Someone pretends that
Doc's voice on the Penguin video-clip was by an actor who sounds like
Jeff Bridges in The Big Lebowski (on lesinrocks.com, the website of a
cultural magazine for young hipsters, Les Inrockuptibles, whose title
is a pun on Les Incorruptibles, French title of The Untouchable
(1987), by Brian De Palma). They also provide a strange picture from
a movie by Christian Marquand called Candie (1968). Trailer here on
