How many of you need to be focused on Prairie?

Of course, "Vineland" is Pynchon's first novel "Focused on the Family"  
so perhaps it's the post-nuclear family -- Zoyd, Prairie, Free 'n'  
Easy [it is to laugh] and the rest of the meshuggah mishpucha that's  
the nominal "protagonist" of VL, eh?
