Yes,,,reconceived meant to convey that....I wanted to imply,
but I guess I failed, that to reconceive a literary work is to think of
every word not just the idea or plot, etc.
I ask the same question.
Yes.....to your last remarks (although I would equate "literary ciritcism'
in terms of Borges story as Every Reader, so to speak............)
And that When written is part of an artwork's meaning.................

The interesting thing about the Borges story, "Pierre Menard, autor
del Quijote," is not that Menard reconceived Quijote without reading
the original, it is that he wrote it identically, line for line,
without reading the original, and that literary criticism
'reconceived' or re-interpreted those same words through a different
historical lens.
