okay, okay...You're right again....just didn't want to go first with such an
opinion. Smile...
I, too, think it is brilliant.....and I now think I misremembered the interview
with Haynes for the usual
reasons---I WANTED to believe this was created by Haynes without any contact
with Bobby D. except for
what we the public, and listeners, and readers of the interviews could know.
As Gaddis is soon to say in our read, i am overly fond of the Romantic
conception of the artist...............

Why "more than it deserves"? I'm an obsessive fan of the movie (I've seen it
six times, so far). It was cheated out of a Best Screenplay nomination/win at
the Oscars probably because they couldn't decide whether it was original or
adapted.
