p.12 wonder, but doubt that this phrase on page 12 has this source,
Moore didn't source it bu tsince the phrase has become more popular
in pop works since Gaddis, here 'tis:

Inspired by the ancient Chinese proverb, "There’s nothing you can own that can’t 
be left out in the rain,"

Seems Gary Snyder's latest Selected Poems adapts this proverb. One understands 
with him.
