As I tried to say: I know from the LICHT cycle (also have it on CD) the
days Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Also heard parts of the other days
on the radio; some of it got indeed performed in collaboration with one
of Stockhausen's sons, Markus, the jazz trumpet player to whom his
father dedicated several compositions, including a part from "Samstag
aus Licht". Like Sun Ra, Stockhausen has unfolded a whole cosmology out
of his beautiful music. It's definitely the straight dope!
Stockhausen is to the 20th century's second half what Schönberg is to
its first one.
