but even the little bit of CR I've looked at has started to win me over.
It's like an early novel!
It's like Petronius or Apuleius without the decadence!
It's like Morte d'Arthur without the odious militarism ("Now you see
the violence inherent in the system" as the anarcho-syndicalist
peasant sez to King Arthur in the Monte Python sketch)

Dude is just wandering around having intellectual and spiritual
adventures, like a wondrous picaroon or Dominique nique nique that
that poor mistreated singing nun (RIP) sang about
