GR translation: the light always gets very red for them

Well,  since there's no no mention of Jessica getting her period or 
anything I sort of ruled out blood and goddess worship and kept a (red) 
eye on the reddening light. (Basher St Blaise does get red eye early on)

But seriously the clue is from later in the book where the Zones are 
moving rapidly away from each other. This represents  fleeing from the 
Holy Center and red-shifting.  (I'll try to find the page number)  In 
other words the Grail is becoming harder to reach..  The doom of Roger 
and Jessica's love, though they know it not,  is already sealed.   By 
the War.

Holy Center Approaching is a favorite game in the Zone.  (always 
approaching but never getting there)

Anyway, it's a thought.
