Tanner, Shakespeare, James, & Sci-Fi in America

In the same volume, _The American Myster_  Tanner includes and essay
on James and Shakespeare. He talks of the objective artist that
Shakespeare presents and why it is so difficult to locate the man in
his art. He quotes James's introduction to Shakespeare's Tempest.
Perhpas my favorite Science Fiction novel ;-) and the only play
Shakespeare set in America.
