There are three forms of the Efficient Market Hypothesis which state 
that you cannot get information about markets which is any better 
than is publicly available to everyone. The premise is that markets 
are efficient and that all information is already priced in before 
you can act. Recent events have shown that markets are not efficient 
and can break. Cramer has entertainment value only.

On another topic which should have been obvious to me but wasn't: we 
let people like Alice, who is just having fun at our expense, call 
OWS anarchists and nihilists but this is backwards. OWS wants a 
stronger central government and a decent social democracy where you 
pay your taxes and get your services. Any good Libertarian would call 
OWS a bunch of statists. Now that the oligarchs and their minions are 
no longer afraid of World Communism, they feel that we peasants can 
do without jobs, health care, pensions, education and a post office. 
Expect to see your postal clerk in something like a Subway cap 
working at a mini-mall counter without pension benefits, health care 
or bargaining rights. The old Post Office real estate can become 
condominiums, car lots, high rise malls, whatever. It will be great.
