ah well, anyway, I think it's worth pursuing, the idea and the fact
that it restricts somewhat the bewildering array of choices for how to
spend my money...

but what if there's some really good company that isn't unionized?
well, that's why I have to keep finding out about companies that I buy
for, which is really only due diligence.  Like the flight crew in
_Vineland_ letting Frenesi through the picket line, I can make
exceptions.  But in any case, it's probably better karma to consider
working conditions among those who build the stuff I use, isn't it?
