ISHMAIL. In March, 1994, the Melville Society sponsored ISHMAIL, an
on-line discussion group open to all individuals — academics,
students, and enthusiasts — with an interest in Melville. After eleven
years of vibrant service, this "listserv" was discontinued in October,
2005. The Melville Society's Executive Committee and Editor hope that
a managed list for research and classroom interaction — Call it
Ishmail2 — will be established in the near future. Until then, readers
can find a Melville discussion group (Ishmailites) through Google
Groups.
