and that does bring back memories of that song, my roommate pinned a
poster of Maria Muldaur up, and I really did like her voice but even
back then the patriarchal implications of belly dancer and sheik
bothered me, the anti-democratic implications in the invocation of
sexual excitement, that is, although I did like the idea of Maria
Muldaur belly-dancing...also the introduction of cactus was somewhat
geographically dissonant
