it's interesting though maybe not germane that inside "prophylactic"
is the root of "phylactery" which is a prayer garment, isn't it?

Maybe I caught some of his malaise, because even though Richard Ryan
quoted the passage, I was still thinking that Benny said the MMTU.  It
was Stencil, though.

so that would (with the appropriate caveats) associate Benny with the
Egyptian captivity, and Stencil with the Babylonian captivity?  Except
that Benny writes on the wall of the USS SS.  So if there is
mirroring, where does Stencil do something on people's doors (he
knocks on a lot of doors...)
